Welcome To My Craft Room.

Hi everyone.
I'm back again with a new update of this blog.
I just want to let you know that I will be posting more about my creative activity, journals and stationery here on this blog. But don't worry, I will still post some scrapbook projects too, but it's not as much as I did in the past.

Today I want to share with you my new craft room.

I usually craft in the attic all this years. It's not really a craft room. It's just a big room for all of us. There's a work space on the left side and on the right side of the room for my husband and I. And then we use the rest of the space as a guest room and a play room. There's also a storage place in this room. My craft corner is really small and dark. I always got frustrated when I was looking for some items or tools to use and I couldn't find them. Because I had to store them in some boxes and I couldn't remember in which box they are .
But two years ago my daughter has moved to another city to study at the university and she generously gave me her room, so that I can have my own craft room.
She will stay in the guest room in the attic instead, if she comes to visit us.
It was my dream to have my own room where I can create .
So I couldn't say enough thank you to her to make my dream came true .

After the room was empty, I started with measuring it, so that I know how much space I have and what kind of furniture I can put on each side . I decided to use some of the furniture that I already have and to buy some new ones at IKEA. Well, most of them. Because they have some affordable items and great designs too.

As I knew how many space I have, I started to sketch what I had in mind, how each side of the room supposed to look like .
And these are my sketches.

Since this is a big project, I made an extra TN journal to document the whole process of transfoming the room into a craft room. I still work on this journal and I will share it here when it's finished.

The next step is to paint the room.
On May 5th, 2019 I started to paint it.
I've decided to paint the three sides the room white and on the wall at the back side of the room lilac.
If you are following me on Instagram, you might have seen it in my story that the whole renovation process not went very smooth especially the window part. Because the carpenter who changed the window worked veeery slow.
You can still see some of the process in detail on my Instagram in my Craft Room highlight story in my bio.

This was actually my first time ever painting the wall.
To paint the back side of the room was the biggest challenge of my life so far.
Because I wanted to have a white frame around that area as you can see on the picture below.
I was worried at first, that I might messed it up. But I did it and I was a bit proud of myself and I was  very happy about the result at the end.

On October 2019, the room is finally finished.
This is how the back side looks now. This is my reading and chilling side . I still need a couch on the left corner, in front of the book shelf.

This is the window side, which is my work space .
On the left side is my main scrapping, journaling and planning desk. and the table on the right side is my sewing and cutting area .

On the picture below is my sewing and cutting corner with a big Kallax unit beside it.

I love this threads holder from Amazon that is hanging on the wall beside the window.
I love seeing all the colourful threads and the fact that I can just pull them out easily if I want to use them is so satisfying.

On the desk, I put this small bamboo shelf that I bought on Amazon to organize all the sewing items, my photo printers and my cuttlebug so that it looks nice and tidy.

This is how it looks at the end.
I put some postcards, posters and family photos on the wall to fill in the empty space .

On my window sill, I have a mini garden.
I chose to have some easy care plants like the mini Orchids and the succulents.
It's always nice to look at them.

This is my main crafting area .

And this is how my happy desk looks.
I'm now very happy to have all my tools and supplies all around my desk so that I can grab them easily if I need them.

Well, that's it.
I had a lot of fun designed, planed and done it by myself from start to finish.
And I'm so happy with how it looks now.
I will share more details of my room later on in a separate post.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and see you soon.
